Welcome to
Tea with Milk and Reiki
Experience the Beautiful, Gentle Japanese Art of Reiki
With Suzie Walker, Level 2 Usui Reiki Practitioner

What Is Reiki?
Usui Reiki is a gentle, hands-on energy healing practice that originated in Japan.
The word “Reiki” combines two Japanese words—Rei (universal) and Ki (life force energy). Practitioners are “attuned” to channel this universal energy through their hands to support physical, emotional, and energetic healing. During a Reiki session, you remain fully clothed, resting comfortably, while the practitioner places their hands lightly on or just above your body. Clients often describe a session as deeply relaxing, peaceful, and restorative.
Reiki by Other Names
Although Reiki is a specific system with its own lineage, many cultures and healing traditions work with energy in similar ways. You may have heard other names that reflect similar philosophies:
Healing Touch – A gentle, energy-based therapy developed by nurses and often practiced in hospitals. It supports the body’s natural healing process and is used to reduce stress and pain.
Therapeutic Touch – A method used primarily in healthcare settings where the practitioner moves their hands over the body’s energy field to balance and restore harmony.
Pranic Healing – A no-touch energy system that focuses on cleansing and energizing the chakras (energy centers) to support wellness.
Quantum Touch – Combines breathing and focused intention to raise life-force energy and promote healing in yourself and others.
Laying on of Hands / Spiritual Healing – Found across many religious and indigenous traditions, this method uses prayer or sacred intention, sometimes with touch, to transmit healing energy.
All Paths to the Same Light
Whether it’s called Reiki, Healing Touch, or something else, these practices all center around the idea that we are more than just bodies—we are energy. Each tradition offers a unique doorway into the same deeper truth: healing is possible when we tap into the universal life force that flows through us all.At Tea with Milk and Reiki, I honor these varied expressions of healing while offering the gentle, grounding support of traditional Usui Reiki. It’s a quiet, sacred pause in your day to reconnect with your own light.

Meet Suzie Walker,
MSW & Usui Reiki Practitioner
So nice to meet you. Thanks for stopping by! I can't wait to introduce you to Usui Reiki energy healing.

By day, I am a different kind of healer. I am a psychotherapist with expertise in trauma, grief, and narcissistic abuse recovery. I also own a small consulting and education company that offers educational courses in psychotherapy topics. And I facilitate a Women's Intuitive Circle each month on the full moon. I have taught in the graduate-level clinical social work program at Boston University School of Social Work, where I also obtained my master of social work (MSW) graduate degree. My bachelor’s degree is from the University of Arizona. And I also lived in the United Kingdom for many years, working for the United States State Department, and had the opportunity to attend the University of Cambridge, studying a variety of science-based topics but spending the majority of my time there in the counselling as well as grief and bereavement realms. So, I have a heavy investment in a “proper,” formal education but I also very much appreciate the exploration of expanding consciousness, studying shamanism, and other alternative and unconventional healing practices. I am a member of the Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology and identify as a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP).

Here is a little about my Reiki journey. In 2021, I experienced a devastating pregnancy loss. I was suffering mightily with surges of severe physical pain in my abdomen, several times each day. It would bring me to my knees and would take my breath away. At around that time, I met with an intuitive healer friend from California who asked me if she could offer Reiki healing. I didn't know much about Reiki at the time, but I trusted her and was agreeable. We sat in silence for a few minutes. And I never experienced that physical pain again. It was remarkable.

I had to know more about this magic called Reiki. Ever the curious student, I asked my friend for some books to read and I began to explore this energy healing modality. I pursued Reiki with four different practitioners so that I could experience how different it might feel with each of them. And eventually, I decided to formally train in Reiki myself with the amazing Kelly Green of Prana Reiki. I am a level 2 Reiki practitioner. I had never intended to turn it into a business, but I have had colleagues and friends reach out and so it seems that the universe decided this for me.
